The end of June has rolled around and marking the mid-point of the year as it has for the last 40-plus years will be the Tiro-Auburn Firefighters Festival. The festival is Friday and Saturday with most of the activities taking place at or near the firehouse in Tiro.

Food Line 1The majority of the activity will get underway at 4 p.m. both days, although several events will be ongoing throughout the day on Saturday.

A staple of the festival is the annual mud volleyball tournament which will be played both Friday and Saturday. Following Friday’s matches, play will resume at noon on Saturday.

Volleyball won’t be the only athletic competition at the festival. There will be a 5K-run and walk at 7 p.m. Friday. Registration for that event begins at 6.

A big attraction for the festival is the food tent and beer garden which will feature pulled pork on Friday and pull beef on Saturday.

The Tiro-Auburn Firefighters Festival is open to the public and serves as a primary fundraiser for the Tiro-Auburn Volunteer Fire Department.
