The Bucyrus City Schools, in partnership with the Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission (OHCAC) and the City of Galion Mayor’s Office, are sponsoring a Summer Food Service Program in Galion. The program is sponsored and funded by the USDA, and monitored by the Ohio Department of Education.

Free lunches will be provided to children ages 1 to 18 through August 1 (Monday through Friday), and weekly menus will be posted at each site and on the Food Services webpage at www.bucyrusschools.org. Sites and times for the Galion program are as follows:
• Libby Lane Apartments, Wyandotte Square, 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
• East Park at the cabin, Walnut Street, 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

“We are very excited to be collaborating with OHCAC and the Bucyrus City Schools food services department to provide the children of Galion nutritious meals over the long summer months,” City of Galion representative Jocelyn Watkins said. “We rely on volunteers to distribute the lunches, and we have many Galion residents who have helped or are committed to helping. This program is truly a great community effort to make sure no child goes hungry this summer.”
