Shirley A. Harsh, 81, of Galion passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Galion Pointe Nursing Center.

Born October 21, 1938 in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of James and Ruby (Lewin) Howell. She married James J. Harsh on May 9, 1959 and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2018.

Shirley first worked at the former Stratbury Manufacturing in Galion as a stamper and later worked at the former Geyers Grocery Store in Galion in the bakery, where she decorated cakes for 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion and she loved to cook, she was known for her chicken and dumplings, enjoyed working on arts and crafts, was an avid baseball fan, her favorite team was the Cleveland Indians and was a very special mom.

She is survived by children, Katherine (Dave Jones) Harsh of Findlay, Michael (Jerrol) Harsh of Findlay and Tina M. Harsh of Galion; grandchildren, Melissa (Ron) Smith of Findlay, Myranda (Jamie) Martin of Waland, Tenn.; step-granddaughter, Kassandra Wallace; great-grandchildren, Kady Smith, Karson Smith, A.J. Harsh and Athena Frances Wallace; sister, Judy (Guy) Bundy of Galion and brother, James Howell of Mansfield.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Howell and Sister, Sandy Summers.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2020 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Galion, 1295 Fairview Road, Galion, Ohio  44833 with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
