CRESTLINE — Crestline Exempted Village Schools Superintendent Matt Henderson recently released a letter to the district’s families about the school’s operations during the state-mandated extended spring break.
Families:
The purpose of this communication is to provide you important information about the district’s plan for the three-week coronavirus pandemic school closing. Keep in mind, this plan is subject to change as we receive more information from the Governor, Department of Education and the Health Department. Our intent is to keep everyone as safe as possible, while serving the needs of our students. In this uncertain and constantly shifting time, we appreciate your patience and consideration.
Classroom Instructional Materials
- Instructional materials will be available for students on Wednesday March 18, 2020. This includes online materials and hard copies of instructional materials as needed. We will be attempting to deliver a combination of both online and paper versions, but all work will be made available in paper format for students. If you have access to the internet and a device, we ask that you make every attempt to access the materials online.
- Links to access online materials will be shared via Facebook, Honeywell and the district website www.crestline.k12.oh.us on Wednesday. Or you can begin accessing the materials by clicking HERE.
- Paper materials can be picked up beginning Wednesday March 18 at the Oldfield Rd. entrance to the K-12 building from the hours of 11 AM – 1 PM and 3 PM – 5 PM. District staff will meet you in the Oldfield Rd. driveway and hand you the packets you need. We will also have packets available at the meal sites listed below. Contact Mr. Henderson to make other arrangements for pick up or delivery of the materials henderson.matt@crestline.k12.oh.us or by phone 419 683-3647.
- This tip was shared by the Northmor Schools: Do you have a smart TV, game system or streaming box like FireTV? These devices usually have a web browser already installed. As long as you have internet access, your student(s) may be able to use these to access online assignments during the closure. Of course, desktop computers, laptops, tablets and cell phones can also be used.
- Teachers will be available for questions and assistance via email, Class Dojo, and Google Classroom. As they are able, they will be monitoring student questions Monday through Friday from the hours of 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Please be patient as teachers are likely to be answering many questions from the students.
- All assignments must be completed by April 5 and returned to school when school opens again on April 6, 2020.
Meals
- A survey was sent out to determine the breakfast and lunch needs of students. Using that information, we have put into place the following plan.
- Meals will be brown bag, grab and go and can be picked up at the following locations and times:
Crestline PK-12 Building, Oldfield Rd entrance: 11:00 – 1:00 PM
(Enter the driveway off of Oldfield Rd and exit to Coyer Rd.)
Kelly Park: 11:30-1:30 PM
(East side of Park Rd)
Avita Parking Lot off of Cross St: 11:30-1:30 PM
(Enter off Cross St. and exit to E. Main St.)
- It is our intent to limit interaction between district staff and the community due to the pandemic, so be prepared to remain in your vehicle when picking up meals.
- We will also provide direct delivery of meals as needed. Please consider completing the following survey if you have not already done so: https://forms.gle/MyaEcuFeqHE28cqZA
