One of the Crawford County Fair Board members reported at Wednesday’s board meeting that JR Addison was injured recently in a motorcycle crash in Illinois. The crash occurred during a practice run.
There was a reference to the accident on Addison’s Facebook page.
Addison is a Colonel Crawford junior who had encouraged the Fair Board to host flat track motorcycle racing at the fairgrounds. Addison won two races at that event on May 17.
Reportedly Addison is scheduled to be released from an Illinois hospital today and will return to Crawford County. His injuries were said to include a broken hand, broken vertebrae, and bruised lungs.
Addison as currently in the top 10 in the points standings this year on the AMA Dirt Track circuit and in 2012 received the Horizon Award as the most outstanding rider at the AMA Dirt Track Grand Championships.
