GALION — Galion City Council passed a group of ordinances and were updated in the city’s budget during its recent meeting.

Council approved Ordinance No. 2019-78 which is an ordinance approving the adoption of the Crawford County Hazard Mitigation Plan dated October 2019 as prepared by the Crawford County Emergency Management Office and adopted by the Crawford County Commissioners.

This ordinance is a mitigation plan in response to potential natural disasters and the damage they cause. This already was submitted to and approved by FEMA.

Other ordinances passed were Ordinance No. 2019-80 and it amends Ordinance No. 2018-71 by appropriating funds from unappropriated funds in various funds, in regard to the Brandt Road Traffic Signal Project that is expected to be completed in 2022.

The ordinance moves money around to different funds to satisfy the needs of the project in different, specified areas.

Council also was presented the 2020 revenue budget and the 2019 expense budget.

The expenditure total for the year, as of mid-October, was $25,035,063.52, and the revenue total for the year, again as of mid-October, was $27,893,231.45.
