GALION — Sectional competition for many area boys golf teams took place across northwest Ohio on Thursday.

Bucyrus’ Reece Zeigler won the Division 3 tournament at Valley View Golf Course with a 76 on the day to advance to the district tournament.

Seneca East tied with Old Fort for the top team score with a 337 and Buckeye Central took third place with a 354. All three teams will advance to the district tournament.

ARLINGTON — Various area teams also competed in the Division 3 sectional tournament at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Arlington.

Carey’s Ethan Tanner qualified for the district tournament by taking second place overall with an 81 through 18 holes.

Van Buren, Allen East and Bluffton all punched their tickets to the district tournaments as a team with scores of 349, 350 and 357, respectively.

OTTAWA — Upper Sandusky boys golf will head to the district tournament as a team for the second consecutive year after competing in the sectional tournament at Moose Landing Country Club.

Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery finished with the top score on the day, a 75 through 18 holes, and will compete in the district tournament for the third time. His teammate, Owen Knapp, finished in a tie for third place with an 80.

Liberty-Benton won the team event with a team score of 329, Upper Sandusky finished second with a 345 and Ottawa-Glandorf finished in third with a 349.
