City of Galion Mayor Tom O’Leary and construction personnel from the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 3 will be hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in Galion City Council Chambers, 301 Harding Way East, Galion. The meeting will include an overview of the phasing of the project, including maintenance of traffic during construction. Any resident or business owner that has questions or concerns about the project are encouraged to attend.
Work on the project began on Monday, May 5, 2014. This project is a minor widening of SR 61/SR 598 in the city of Galion. A center left turn lane will be added in order to reduce congestion and crashes along this roadway. In addition, the SR 598 bridge over the Olentangy River will be reconstructed and widened.
