The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office collected 69 pounds of prescription medication during Saturday’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The Take Back Day was held in cooperation with Operation Medicine Cabinet to help keep drugs out of rivers, streams, drinking water, and out of the hands of children.
The METRICH Drug Task Force coordinated the events throughout the region. An additional Drug Take Back Day was held by the Galion Police Department at the Galion Community Hospital. The unused and expired prescription medication, over-the-counter medications, and vitamins collected will be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency to be properly disposed.
Sheriff Scott Kent would like to thank those residents who participated in the program.
If you were unable to participate in the Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, a twenty-four hour drop-off box is located in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office to dispose of the medication.
