The Bucyrus Kiwanis Club breathed new life into the Community Garage Sale Saturday. With three local churches represented, along with food vendors and bake sales, Kiwanis Club member and event organizer Doug Weisenauer thought it turned into a success.
“We’re having a good turnout today with the garage sale. Hundreds of people coming through today, trying to raise money for local Kiwanis charities and we’re looking forward to doing it again,” Weisenauer said. “We’ve been in the planning process for several months trying to line up vendors and get the word out and apparently it is working because we are having a good turn out today.”
Items found at the garage sale ranged from everyday items to antiques and copper kettles. Unwanted items left over from the sale were taken to the Goodwill.
Money raised by the Kiwanis Club from selling spots to vendors will be distributed back into the community through projects.
