Tara Zinser’s day didn’t finish with her check presentation to the Susan G. Komen foundation. The Wynford senior also settled on which college she planned on attending in the fall.
Capitalizing on her high school volleyball career, the soon to be Crusader said she wants to major in political science in addition to taking to the volleyball court. Zinser explained why she chose Capital.
“I knew I wanted to be in a bigger city, and being right outside of Columbus was perfect. I want to major in political science, so being at the capital was a no brainer,” Zinser said. “I had a ton of family go to Capital, and they all played sports so they were definitely pushing me to go to Capital.”
While Capital was her final choice, Zinser had a few other schools she was contemplating on attending.
“I was looking at Bethany in West Virginia and Washington & Jefferson in Pennsylvania, but I decided I wanted to be closer to home,” Zinser said.
Zinser’s mom Molly was happy in her daughter’s choice.
“We are very proud of her, we actually have a long family history at Capital so we are super excited to have her as a Crusader,” Molly Zinser said. “She did a little looking around, looked at what the options might be, but at the end of the day Capital is a great fit, nice size campus, the coach, we are real excited for her to work with coach Amanda Hubbard.”
During her senior season, Zinser was seventh in the N10 in blocking with 53 blocks over 81 sets on the season for a .65 block per game average.
