One thing often leads to another and for Jason Grasley that other thing is a stay in prison.

The 46-year-old Crestline man was on community control as a result of a felony domestic violence conviction in 2013. However, more recently Grasley was convicted of fourth-degree felony theft in Richland County. That in turn led to a revocation hearing in Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.

Grasley’s probation was revoked in the Crawford County case and Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Grasley to 11 months in prison.

In other hearings Wednesday afternoon, two people were granted judicial release from their prison sentences. Released early Amber Ramsey and Nickolas Arrendondo in accordance with their plea agreements.

Arrendondo was originally sentenced to 36 months in prison following his conviction for third-degree felony illegal assembly or possession of chemicals to manufacture drugs. Arrendondo was placed on five years of community control.

Ramsey was convicted of a similar charge and also placed on community control for five years. However, she will remain in custody of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office until she can be placed into the CROSSWAEH program as part of her community control program.

Robert Thompson was also placed on community control for five years following his previous guilty plea to fifth-degree felony theft. Judge Leuthold warned Thompson, “If you do not live up to your end of the bargain you are going to prison.”

Tyler Slone, Dallas Carroll and Levi Johnson all appeared for initial hearings on charges of probation violations. Bond was set in Slone’s case at $150,000, Carroll’s case at $150,000, and Johnson’s case at $100,000.

James Brown failed to appear for his arraignment on charges of fifth-degree felony drug possession and fifth-degree forgery. Leuthold issued a warrant for his arrest with orders for a drug test and bond to be set at $250,000.
