The Bucyrus-area community is invited to the fifth annual Neighborhood Churches’ Block Party from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 2 on Woodlawn Ave. between Walnut and Lane streets.

Young and young-at-heart can enjoy free food, beverages, games and prizes, balloons, a cake walk and a chance to get to know people from our community. There is also face painting and music by Sonix Soundz DJ Service.

Parking is available at the Bucyrus UMC Outreach Center at 216 Hopley Ave. and by the elementary school.

The block party is part of National Night OutTM, a police-community partnership intended to send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime and drug abuse.

The Bucyrus Neighborhood Churches sponsoring this event include: Bucyrus UMC, Father’s Heart Healing Center, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, Good Hope Lutheran Church, New Day Ministries, Salvation Army, St. Paul Lutheran Church and St. John’s UCC.
