A marathon session of arraignments in Crawford County Common Pleas Court concluded Monday with 32 people facing felony charges following the latest session of the Grand Jury.

Those arraigned included the man facing an 80-count indictment on charges involving child pornography. The County Prosecutor’s Office filed an additional four-count indictment against Marcus Williams of Galion which will be consolidated with the existing case. The new charges against Williams include three counts of fifth-degree felony illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material and one count of fourth-degree felony pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. Judge Sean Leuthold continued Williams’ $2.5 million bond.

Travis Hancock, the man accused of setting the fire at the Bucyrus Plaza Apartments on May 30, was charged with aggravated arson which is a first-degree felony. Hancock’s bond was set at $750,000.

Daniel Earl was charged with aggravated burglary, also a first-degree felony. In setting Earl’s bond as personal recognizance, the judge noted for the record that Earl had no previous felony record and the incident began as a dispute between landlord and tenant.

“This is a case where I would normally hand out a bond of three-quarter million (dollars),” Leuthold said. “But given the circumstances, I feel a personal recognizance bond may be appropriate.”

Earl must wear a monitoring device while out on bond.

Joseph Wagner’s bond was set at $250,000 on a charge of felonious assault. Wagner is alleged to have held a knife at the throat of a family member.

Endangering childrenBrian Miller of Crestline was charged with four counts, all second-degree felonies. Miller is charged with three counts of felonious assault and one count of endangering children. The victim is an infant who was approximately two-to-three-weeks-old at the time of the first incident and 2 months old when hospitalized at Nationwide Children’s Hospital on May 4.

Crawford County Prosecutor Matthew Crall said although the initial prognosis was not good, the child’s health has improved. The child remains in the hospital. The judge continued Miller’s bond at $1 million.

Gilbert Smith is charged with second-degree felony assault. His bond is set at $200,000.

Possession of drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed weapons, possession of drugs - Schedule I, II, falsificationJames Rumbarger was arraigned on five counts of fifth-degree felony breaking and entering. Rumbarger is alleged to have broken into vacant houses in Galion to take copper pipe.

Noting the proximity of the addresses of the homes to one another, Leuthold said, “If I didn’t know better it would appear as though he (Rumbarger) was running for office – going door-to-door.”

Rumbarger’s bond was set at $150,000.

Ronald Agin’s bond was set at $500,000. Agin is charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree theft.

Of the 32 arraigned, 13 were indicted on charges involving drugs. One of those pleaded guilty. William Smith Jr. pleaded guilty to fourth-degree felony drug trafficking. Smith’s $25,000 bond was continued through a pre-sentence investigation, but the recommendation from the County Prosecutor’s Office is that he be placed on community control for five years and ordered to successfully complete an approved alcohol and drug treatment program, be fined $1,250, have his driver’s license suspended for six months and forfeit all drug-related items to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
