A Fremont woman who avoided prison the first time around was not so lucky the second time.

Lorianne Bright

In Crawford County Common Pleas Court Wednesday morning, 26-year-old Lorianne Bright admitted to violating her community control when she possessed methamphetamines, smoked marijuana, and associated with two convicted felons. As a result, Judge Sean Leuthold ordered her to serve an agreed-upon 10 months in prison.

Bright, who served 180 days in the county jail for endangering children after she passed out on heroin in a car with a child, had only been out for one month before violating her community control.

“I don’t get any type of remorse or anything from you that you will turn your life around,” Leuthold told Bright before dismissing her from the courtroom.

Forty-two-year-old Kristie Clark, of Crestline, pleaded guilty to drug possession, a fifth-degree felony. She was placed on community control for five years, fined $1,250, ordered to forfeit drug-related property to the Crestline Police Department, and must enter into a drug and alcohol treatment program.

Sha Dawn Smith

Twenty-five-year-old Sha Dawn Smith, of Mansfield, submitted a guilty plea to receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. That plea will be held until Smith completes the prosecutor’s two-year diversion program, after which it will be dismissed.

Two people appeared in court for community control violations.

Alicia Denney

Thirty-year-old Alicia Denney, of Bucyrus, admitted to failing to report her address and failing to report to office visits while on community control. She was sentenced to 45 days in the county jail and will be terminated unsuccessfully from community control.

“I don’t think prison is the important thing to do,” Leuthold admitted. “This is a break most people don’t get from me.”

“I’ve got a better support team now,” Denney told the judge.

Denney originally pleaded guilty to drug possession in 2016 and was placed on community control.

Twenty-two-year-old Chad Carlisle allegedly operated a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, was outside of his residence past his curfew, and consumed alcohol. Leuthold appointed Andrew Motter as his attorney and released him on a personal recognizance bond.
