Switching venues, but still offering a great deal on breakfast, the Farmers’ Share Breakfast was held at Bucyrus High School this year.

Previously the Farmers’ Share Breakfast has been held at Wynford, but Brenda Kocher of the Crawford County Farm Bureau explained that the reasons for switching to Bucyrus High School were that the school is more centrally located in the county, and to try to bring in more people.

“We wanted to focus more on the people from the urban areas that might not deal with agriculture as much, and we thought we could get a different crowd,” Kocher said.

County Commissioners and other county leaders served up the breakfast while FFA members did various work in and around the kitchen and cafeteria.

Bucyrus City Schools Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said that the city school was pleased to host the event.

“Bucyrus Schools are very happy this year to be able to host the Farmers’ Share Breakfast it’s a great community event that is put on,” Kimmel said. “We had a great turn out today, and we are very happy to support all of the organizations that are here representing the community today.”

Breakfast wasn’t the only thing being served up at the Farmer’s Share Breakfast. The documentary “Farmland” was aired in the school’s theater and around the walls of the Cafeteria fifteen booths promoting various aspects of agriculture including agricultural safety were on display. Bucyrus Avita Hospital also had a booth set up that gave free blood pressure tests along with health information.
