Violation of probation netted one person a prison sentence Tuesday afternoon in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Steven McMillen admitted to two counts of violating community control. McMillen was arrested on misuse of a credit card, as well as urine samples testing positive for cocaine and opiates. As a result, McMillen was sentenced Tuesday to seven months in prison.

“Mr. McMillen, you have had a lot of opportunities to turn things around. I saw you a lot in Municipal Court,” Judge Sean Leuthold said. “If you are foolish enough when you get out of prison to get back into the drug lifestyle you will find yourself facing me again.”

Two people were arraigned in Common Pleas Court Tuesday afternoon.

Anthony Burns was arraigned on counts of possession of cocaine and possession of synthetic marijuana K-2. Both counts combined carry a possible 24 months in prison and $5,000 fine for the 19-year-old Bucyrus man. Burns was appointed attorney Brad Starkey and bond was set at $100,000.

Carrie Snyder’s bond was set at $50,000 and she was appointed attorney Grant Garverick when she was arraigned on a charge of fifth-degree felony drug possession. Snyder faces a possible 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine if found guilty in the case.

Kelley Nalley changed her plea from not guilty to guilty on a fifth-degree felony theft charge. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered prior to sentencing.

The prosecution’s offer was withdrawn on Tuesday and the case of Torin Jones will be going to trial Thursday. Jones pleaded not guilty to an amended fourth-degree felony possession of cocaine which carries a possibility of 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine, as well as not guilty to misdemeanor OVI. The offer from the prosecution was nine months in prison with credit served as well as a dismissal on the OVI charge.

With Jones rejecting the offer the case is scheduled for a jury trial beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.
