Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club, 4146 Klopfenstein Road) Bucyrus, Ohio announces its 18th annual Family Field Day to be held on National Hunting and Fishing Day, Saturday, September 24th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The donation of $5 includes lunch and outdoor events such as archery, fishing, shotgun and rifle ranges, and additional seminars. Children must be accompanied by parent or responsible adult and a preregistration form and liability waiver must be signed and returned by Friday, September 23rd.

Scheduled activities and seminars will run throughout the day, and all sessions are attended by all participants. Events include:

  • Fishing- catfish, blue gill and bass out of the pond .
  • Archery Range – staffed by the Christian Bowhunters Association.
  • Shotgun – Elkhorn staff with help from qualified volunteers
  • Rifle range with supervision from our ODNR friends.

Additional activities include:

  • Boat Safety (ODNR Division of Watercraft)
  • Pheasant Field Dressing and cooking (Marion Pheasants Forever)
  • Pond ecology
  • Turkey Hunting (NWTF)
  • and a local blacksmith will be on site

To participate in Youth Pheasant Hunt, a child must be at least 12 years old, have a hunter education certificate and valid youth hunting license, wear hunter orange, and participate with a licensed responsible adult. A separate liability waiver/application is required. Participation times will be chosen at the event, after we have verified who has arrived.
