Three people were arrested Wednesday morning in Galion as a result of another search warrant executed following an investigation into drug-related activities.
The Galion Police Department, with the assistance of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Bucyrus Police Department, Crawford County Special Response Team, and the Galion Fire Department, conducted a search warrant at 128 W. Parson St. in Galion.
During the search, officers seized numerous articles of drug paraphernalia and cash believed to be proceeds from drug transactions. Twenty-six-year-old Jesse Melba, 31-year-old Sarah Barker, and 49-year-old Lisa Jenkins, all residing at the Parson Street address, were arrested and taken to the Crawford County Jail pending formal filing of criminal charges.
Melba was charged with trafficking in heroin, Barker for permitting drug abuse and possession of heroin, and Jenkins for permitting drug abuse and possession of cocaine. Melba has two prior convictions for felony drug possession, both in 2013.

“Collaborative efforts among Crawford County law enforcement officers continues to be successful in our fight against trafficking in illegal drugs. We stand as one and will continue to concentrate our efforts to rid neighborhoods of these illegal activities,” said Chief Brian Saterfield.
The Galion Police Department, Bucyrus Police Department and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office are all participants of the METRICH Drug Task Force.
