Those thinking about breaking and entering beware: Crawford County law enforcement may be just around the corner.
With the Bucyrus Police Department interrupting thefts in progress recently, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office decided to take a turn to catch would-be burglars in the act. Sheriff’s deputies had been patrolling an area in Polk Township at 1:22 a.m. Thursday morning where a breaking and entering complaint and suspicious activity had previously been reported.
While patrolling, the deputies check a residence and located two males attempting to break in to a camper that was parked in a residential driveway. Deputies apprehended 37-year-old Brandon M. Postell and 29-year-old Jonathon Starrett after both suspects attempted to flee from the area.
Postell and Starrett were transported to the Crawford County Justice Center and booked-in on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and possession of criminal tools.
In unrelated cases, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office arrested David Lee Tuck of Bloomville on July 4 for domestic violence and Belinda Rossman of Chatfield on July 9 for two counts of contempt. Both are being held for court.
