Though the Crestline Village Council approved the hiring of another full-time police officer for its police department at its meeting earlier this week, the decision was not a unanimous one.
Council members approved changing the status of officer Adam Brock from part-time to full-time in spite of dissenting votes from council members Allen Moore and Tina Swartz. The two council members said they were concerned about the impact on the budget and the uncertain disposition of criminal charges against officer Mark Callicoat who is currently on unpaid leave pending the outcome.
