Crawford County Prosecutor Matthew Crall announced today the indictments of 39 new cases from the December Grand Jury. Nineteen of those cases are directly related to drug abuse.

The 39 indictments bring the total number of indictments for 2015 to 399 indictments. In 2014, the grand juries of Crawford County indicted 258 cases.

According to Crall, “Everyone in our community is coming together to hold those who break the law accountable. Members of the community have decided to place our resources toward fighting crime in Crawford County by passing safety forces levies. The Special Response Team is using those resources in collaboration between law enforcement, fire, and the prosecutor’s office to ferret out those who commit crime – especially drug offenses. The prosecutor’s office and the court system are working to see that those who commit serious crime do serious time.”

Two first-degree felonies of rape were brought against 22-year-old Timothy Peck and 19-year-old Kalab Atwell, both of Bucyrus. Peck’s $2 million bond and Atwell’s $500,000 bond were continued from Crawford County Municipal Court. The first-degree felonies carry a maximum 11-year prison sentence.

Four people involved in a burglary were also arraigned on various charges Monday morning. Thirty-five-year-old Frederick Miller of Galion and 20-year-old Jamie Fultz, listed as homeless in court records, walked away with the most serious charges stemming from the alleged incident. Miller and Fultz were both arraigned for second-degree felony burglary. Miller was also arraigned for fourth-degree felony safecracking while Fultz is facing a fourth-degree felony carrying concealed weapons felony.

Judge Sean Leuthold immediately set bond at $250,000 for Miller. Though he started to set bond at $750,000 for Fultz, he interrupted himself as he mulled over the alleged facts.

“It’s a burglary and a gun was involved,” Leuthold stated as he officially set bond at $1 million for Fultz.

The other two co-defendants in the case, 21-year-old Laura Martinez and 18-year-old Christian Jackson, had bonds set at $250,000 and $150,000, respectively. Martinez, who had to wait a short period of time while the judge debated bond with attorneys from both sides, was arraigned for complicity to burglary, a second-degree felony. Jackson was arraigned on two fourth-degree felonies: receiving stolen property and safecracking.

Those arraigned Monday along with their charges and bonds set were: Joshua Albright, F5 possession of drugs ($100,000); Nickolas Arrendondo, F2 illegal manufacturing of drugs, F3 illegal assembly or possession of chemicals to manufacture drugs, F3 having weapons under disability, and F5 possession of drugs ($500,000); Christopher Backus, F5 theft (personal recognizance bond); William Blackert, Jr., F3 failure to comply ($100,000); Chase Bowman, F5 possession of drugs ($50,000); Ronald Carver, F5 theft ($25,000); Jade Christiansen, F5 theft (personal recognizance bond); Angela Cox, F5 forgery (personal recognizance bond); Nicholas Hall, F5 possession of heroin ($50,000); Nicholas Hefner, F4 carrying concealed weapon and F5 possession of drug (personal recognizance bond); James Horner, F3 illegal cultivation of marijuana ($150,000); Terry Hunter, F3 tampering with evidence ($100,000); Torin Jones, F3 intimidation ($100,000); Bradley Jordan, F5 theft ($15,000); Dylan Lackey, F5 forgery (personal recognizance bond); Joseph Lewis, F5 possession of heroin ($50,000); John Meacham, F3 compelling prostitution ($150,000); Caleb Moyer, F3 tampering with evidence ($100,000); Meagan Rastetter, F2 illegal manufacturing of drugs, F3 illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacturing of drugs, F5 possession of drugs ($250,000); Jeremy Schaffer, F5 possession of drugs and F5 possession of drugs ($50,000); Laken Stallings, F5 possession of drugs ($100,000); Haley Walters, F5 possession of drugs ($100,000); Ruth White, F4 domestic violence ($25,000); and Andrew Young, F5 possession of heroin and F5 possession of cocaine ($50,000); William Zeigler, Jr., F5 possession of drugs ($50,000).
