The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that happened Friday morning on Wyandot Road that left one teenager dead.
At 10:10 a.m. Crawford County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a fatal one-vehicle accident on Wyandot Road south of Marion Melmore Road. Preliminary investigation indicates that a tan 1998 S-10 truck operated by Gage Ruth, 23, of Bucyrus, was traveling southwest on Wyandot Road when it ran off the left side of the roadway into a ditch where it struck a utility pole and rolled along the south ditch line where it came to rest on its tires.
Ruth and a 14-year-old male from Bucyrus were transported to Bucyrus Community Hospital for treatment by LifeSupport EMS, and Wyandot County Fire/EMS.
A 15-year-old male from Bucyrus was pronounced dead at the scene and later transported to Bucyrus hospital.
Bucyrus Township Fire Department and Dallas Township Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
