A man with one conviction for a sex-related felony on his record has been charged with two more, including first-degree rape.
Thirty-four-year-old Robert Cooley is charged with felony 4 gross sexual imposition in addition to felony 1 rape. Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold set bond for Cooley at $1 million at Monday’s arraignment, citing the severity of the charges and his previous conviction for a sex-related offense.
The alleged victim from both new charges is the same 17-year-old girl. Cooley could be sent to prison for as long as 12-and-one-half years if convicted.
Bucyrus attorney Adam Stone was appointed to represent Cooley.
Also arraigned Monday was Frederick Miller. Miller is charged with felony 3 domestic violence and felony 3 intimidation Miller’s bond has been set at $200,000 Grant Garverick was appointed as his attorney.
A total of 13 people were arraigned during Monday morning’s proceedings. They are: James Allonas II, F3 failure to control ($150,000); Joseph Childress, F5 forgery M1 falsification and M 2 obstructing official business ($25,000); Mickie Crider, F4 drug possession, F5 drug possession and M1 drug possession ($100,000); William Bauer, F3 tampering with evidence and F5 drug possession ($100,000); Michael Bloomfield, F5 drug possession ($100,000); Healea Walters, F5 drug possession ($50,000); Jose Medina, F4 assaulting a police officer ($100,000); Jessica Short, F2 burglary ($150,000); Justin Espinoza, F2 burglary ($25,000); Frederick Miller, F3 domestic violence and F3 intimidation ($200,000); Thomas Conners, F5 theft and F5 forgery ($10,000); Donald Ditmars, F5 criminal non-support (personal recognizance); Robert Cooley, F1 rape and F4 gross sexual imposition ($1 million).
Also, on Monday, Kyle May was charged with violating his probation. May is alleged to have committed breaking and entering in Logan County, tested positive, and associating with a convicted felon. Tom Nicholson was appointed to represent May and his bond was set at $100,000.
